In 2015, Janardan Manjhi of JDU was the winner in this seat beating Mrinal Shekhar of BJP by a margin of 11773 votes which was 7.65% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Janardan Manjhi of JDU won this seat defeating Surendra Prasad Singh of RJD by a margin of 18007 votes which was 15.52% of the total votes polled for the seat.
