    This constituency covers an approximate area of 481.59 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Jamui is: 24°57'46.8"N 86°15'36.7"E.

    A total of seven Assembly constituencies in the state of Bihar share borders with Jamui constituency, which are: Lakhisarai, Suryagarha, Jamalpur, Tarapur, Jhajha, Chakai, Gobindpur. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Jharkhand.

    In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Shreyasi Singh of BJP won in this constituency beating Vijay Prakash of RJD by a margin of 41049 votes which was 22.63% of the total votes cast. In 2015, Vijay Prakash of RJD was the winner in this seat beating Ajoy Pratap of BJP by a margin of 8249 votes which was 5.23% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Ajay Pratap of JDU won this seat defeating Vijay Prakash of RJD by a margin of 24467 votes which was 20.09% of the total votes polled for the seat.
