In 2015, Chandra Shekhar of RJD was the winner in this seat beating Vijay Kumar " Bimal" of BJP by a margin of 37642 votes which was 20.49% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Chandrashekhar of RJD won this seat defeating Dr. Ramendra Kumar Yadav Ravi of JDU by a margin of 11944 votes which was 7.79% of the total votes polled for the seat.
