This constituency covers an approximate area of 586 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Tindivanam is: 12°12'51.1"N 79°47'38.8"E.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Arjunan P of AIADMK won in this constituency beating Seethapathy P of DMK by a margin of 9753 votes which was 5.39% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Seethapathy P of DMK was the winner in this seat beating Rajendran S P of AIADMK by a margin of 101 votes which was 0.06% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Haridoss.D of AIADMK won this seat defeating Sankar M.P of PMK by a margin of 15537 votes which was 10.14% of the total votes polled for the seat.
